Belwalk

Privacy

Updated 12 October 2026

Belwalk works without an account. Your passport, stamps, day plan and settings stay on your device. Anonymous usage statistics are on; you can turn them off below at any time.

What stays on your device

Usage statistics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to count:

We never send your location, coordinates, names, messages or anything you type. Google signals and ad personalisation are off, there are no ads, and Google Consent Mode keeps ad storage denied. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. Google sets two first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_…) to tell visits apart. We keep the statistics for the shortest period Google offers.

If you turn statistics off, Google Analytics is not loaded and nothing is sent to Google. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, statistics stay off.

Changing your mind

Use the buttons above, or open About Belwalk in the app (at the bottom of the Nearby and Passport tabs) and switch Anonymous usage statistics off. Turning it off removes the Google Analytics cookies from this site. Clearing your browser's site data resets everything, including your passport.

Who we are

Belwalk is a free, independent walking guide made by one developer. The legal basis for the statistics is our legitimate interest in improving the guide (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)); you can object at any time by turning them off. Google processes the statistics as our processor under the Google Ads Data Processing Terms. For questions or requests about your data, write to the maker through buymeacoffee.com/nikolavish. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in North Macedonia: the Personal Data Protection Agency, AZLP).
